Havana Cafe Introduces Morning Menu

She can’t bring in the tropical breezes or Caribbean setting. But B.J. Hernandez is doing her best to simulate breakfast in Havana with her new morning menu at Havana Cafe.

The new line-up includes breakfast empanadas like the Gaucho ($7.25), filled with Cuban steak, chorizo and Manchego cheese, and the Turista ($6.95), stuffed with ham, cheddar, olives and hard-boiled egg.

Among the egg dishes are bistec con huevos ($13.50), a hearty platter featuring marinated skirt steak topped with two fried eggs and maduros (sweet plantains), as well as your choice of black beans and rice or skillet potatoes. Or try the traditional Spanish tortilla ($8.95), an omelet made with peppers, onions, cheese and potatoes.

And if you’ve got a breakfast sweet tooth, look for papaya raisin loaf ($4.95), guava and cream cheese puff pastry ($5.50) or Spanish donuts coated with cinnamon sugar ($2.50).

The breakfast menu is only available at the restaurant’s Camelback Road, phoenix restaurants az, branch.
